Supporting Our Troops
 We
urge that all our fellow Americans to show their
support for our men and women serving in the armed
forces. General Tommy Franks once said that he
didn't ever recall there being a "popular war."
There is much wisdom in the simple truth of that
statement. Regardless of how you may feel about any
action or deployment in which our nation and our
troops may be involved, let us never waiver in our
support for the members of our military who serve
with courage, honor, and steadfast dedication.
We have
lost over 10,000 American troops in the past 15
years. Our troops are almost always at risk, in
times of relative peace, and in times of war. And
when that ultimate price is paid, there are often
children and families left behind.
We are
actively involved in raising funds for the Freedom
Alliance Scholarship Fund, through our own
non-profit 501 (C) (3) charitable organization The
America First Foundation, Inc., which provides
vocational and college scholarships for the
surviving children of our fallen heroes, those who,
while on active duty in any branch of the military,
have paid the ultimate price of life or limb in
service to our nation, and to protect and further
the cause of freedom.

Each
year for the past three years, we have organized the
Freedom Run and Freedom Car Show, as a fundraiser
for the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund. By all
accounts, the event increases in size each year and
has grown into one of the largest Support the Troops
events in this region.
We are
proud that over the past three years, we have raised
over $20,000 for the children of our fallen Troops
who will benefit from the Freedom Alliance
Scholarship Fund.
This
year, the 4th Annual Freedom 5-K Run, the first Joey
Graves Memorial 10K Run, and Freedom Car &
Motorcycle Show will take place on Saturday, August
25th, 2007, not far from San Francisco, in the
beautiful town of Discovery Bay. Call us for more
information, and if you'd like to help sponsor this
great event and/or take part.
As a
family, and owner of two family run businesses,
we've also sent out dozens of "care" packages to
our deployed troops over the past few years, and The
America First Foundation continues to collect goods
to send to our frontline troops.
We
should remember, always, that supporting our Troops
is not and never should be a "political issue." It
is simply our patriotic duty. If you live in the
Northern California or Central Valley region, please
consider coming out and being a part of the 2007 4th
Annual Freedom Run and Freedom Car & Motorcycle Show
event on Saturday, August 25th.
And,
when you see a soldier, airman, seaman, guardsman or
Marine, or a veteran, please thank them for their
service and let's all support the troops who are
serving today, wherever they might be. They deserve
it, and they truly do need to know that we, here at
home, stand behind them. May God bless them all,
keep them safe from harm, and may God continue to
bless our great nation.
